DYE CULIK PC is a small business and franchise law firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina. At DYE CULIK PC (the “Firm”), we recognize the importance of privacy and the sensitivity of personal information ("PI").  We are committed to protecting any PI we hold. This Privacy Policy outlines how we manage your PI and safeguard your privacy.

This Privacy Policy describes the type of information which the Firm collects from this Site and how that information may be used. This Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time and governs your use of this Site.

INFORMATION COLLECTION

You are not required to provide Personal Information (PI) such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, or other general information used to identify you personally, to make general use of this Site. The Firm will only collect PI when it is provided to us in an email, on a registration form, in an online survey, or in other similar transmissions.

To help us monitor Site usage patterns and to help us improve this Site, we may use certain technologies, including cookies, to gather generic information ("GI") that does not reveal your identity, such as information about the Internet Protocol ("IP") address assigned to your computer, the number and frequency of visitors, and the Web pages visited. WHY WE COLLECTION INFORMATION

We collect GI and PI for the following purposes:

  1. To provide legal services;

  2. To provide our users and clients with ongoing client assistance and technical support;

  3. To be able to contact our Site visitors and users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services;

  5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

USE OF INFORMATION

The Firm will use your PI you give to us to provide legal advice and services to you, including for billing purposes after a formal attorney-client relationship has been established.  Unless you specifically direct otherwise, the Firm may also use your PI to include you in any direct marketing activities by the Firm. If you inform us that you no longer wish to receive information about our services, or about new developments in the law, we will not send any further material.

The Firm will not disclose your PI to any third party to enable them to market their products and services. For example, we do not provide our client mailing lists to other law firms or to consultants we work with from time to time.

The Firm will also disclose your PI to other third parties if:

  1. You consent to the disclosure of PI;

  2. We believe we are compelled to do so for legal or regulatory purposes;

  3. When we believe that the legal services we are providing require us to give your information to a third party;

  4. Where it is necessary to establish or collect fees;

  5. We engage a third party, expert witness, or other attorney or law firm  to provide legal services on your behalf;

  6. If the information is already publicly known.

 

The Firm may share GI we collect with our affiliates, contractors and other third parties.

SECURITY

Internet data transmission is not guaranteed to be secure nor is any security system completely secure. The Firm does not guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us or provide to us online.

THIRD PARTY LINKS

We may occasionally provide links to third party websites on this website which are not governed by this privacy policy. Even if the third party is affiliated with the Firm through a business partnership or otherwise, the Firm is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices or the content of such parties.

YOUR ACCESS TO PI

You may ask for a copy of and access to any PI we hold about you.  Files are retained for the period required by law in North Carolina.  Archival, retrieval and copying charges may apply. We reserve the right to deny access to your PI under certain circumstances if the granting of access to your PI constitutes: a violation or potential violation of applicable laws, rules, or regulations; an unreasonable impact or invasion of other people's privacy; a frivolous request. We will provide a written explanation of any refusal to provide you with access to your PI.
